I am sorry to report that Radio Operator S/SGT Leonard Conway and Waist Gunner SGT Salvatore Gennaro, both assigned to Over Loaded for Missions 34 & 35, were both killed in action on Mission 34.
The two Waist Gunners assigned to B-24 Delta Rebel for Missions 34 & 35 were also wounded.
SGT David “Squeaky” Michell - LW - foot cut, RTD 29 May 44 - earned a Purple Heart and is being returned to the Spare Pool.
SGT Varney “Tater” Coultrain - SW - foot amputated - earned a Purple Heart and is Invalidated Home
Replacements will be sought for these four crew men.

Due to end of rotations for the crew of Double Bomb, both the original pilots, CAPT Flores and 1ST LT Sanders will be ending there assignments to the squadron. CAPT Flores has been out since April 1944 due to injuries sustained and LT Sanders has been in command of Double Bomb with 2LT Cliff Brownell has been co-pilot. Given that LT Brownell has developed experience with the plane and the crew it is recommended that he take over command of Double Bomb from LT Sanders with the end of his assignment. This would mean a permanent assignment for LT Brownell until his rotation is complete. Please review this request and provide a decision on the change of command.

Captain Shea, the following crewmen, formerly of B-24 Next Objective are, at your discretion, available for the Spare Pool, or to be transferred to other theaters or roles. These three men have recently been returned to duty, following being shot down over Yugoslavia. All come highly recommended by yours truly, as they were formerly part of my crew.
