Hey guys,
I just found out that theres a group playing Tf tonight campaigns. (Like we)
I thought it would be interesting to play a combined/mixed campaign.
Like 509th are flying the daylight missions and the RAF boys the night missions - likr attacking specific cities etc.
What do you think?

If you mean this campaign, Steven K. Dixon's "Target for Tonight" campaign, not sure. It isn't run the same way, Steve manages the whole thing solo. But, you never know. I fly in that campaign. Right now we are in Dec 1943, with about three week turn around times.

Entirely independently, I kind of had the same idea. I looked up a bit and one squadron that peaked my interest was the 428 Sqdn RCAF, which converted to Lancasters right about after D-Day (they previously flew Halifaxes, having also converted to them from the twin-engined Wellingtons). Most of the Lancaster planes initially assigned to 428 Sqdn seem to have been Canadian-built ones. If people are interested, the first mission to be flown with Lancasters was on the night of 14/15 June. Briefing [based on a reading of the relevant parts of the ORB] attached Mission 1 Briefing.pdf (487.93 KB)[should be self-explanatory: if there is an X in the relevant section of the flight log on p. 2, don't roll for it, otherwise do with the given modifier, on top of existing ones for ex. for target zone or weather]. Again, if people are interested, we can start a thread in the "To England and Beyond" area. The only area where this might not work really well with TfTn is that the number of fighters actually engaged by bomber crews was probably less than what you'd get from a usual playthrough of the game [every single encounter with enemy planes - by surviving bombers, of course - is catalogued in combat reports; for most individual operations, there aren't that many, or in fact any, of them...]. Cheers, Edit: if people want an approximate timeframe, here are the first few Lancaster missions - looking at the available dates of the 509th missions these don't quite match, but it's probably possible to catch up or skip some of the less interesting missions if desired. Date | Target | Type | 14/06/44 | St. Pol | Night | 15/06/44 | Boulogne | Day | 16/06/44 | Sterkrade | Night | 21/06/44 | St. Martin L'Hortier | Day | 23/06/44 | Bientques | Night | 24/06/44 | Bamieres | Night | 27/06/44 | Forêt d'Eawy | Night | 04/07/44 | Villeneuve St.-George | Night | 12/07/44 | Acquet | Night |

rubo , ChefEd , and others as interested: I've now started a few threads on the "England and beyond" board with the results of my efforts if you're interested.
