I just lost my aircraft and crew flying for the 79th. Slammin' Sally was last seen on the approach to Udine Airfield. Can I create another bomber and crew and rejoin the 79th on the next mission? Thank you - David

Thank you - David Absolutely. That is, sadly, the standard operating procedure when a bomber is lost. Some players post here and some just report to their Squadron CO's office, as they stay in the same squadron.

In case you are wondering, yes, this is "sunny Italy." I hope that you and your crew can at least find dry barracks. While the weather may be a disappointment, I can personally attest that the wine here is first-rate. As is the local food. When you and your crew are settled in and Major Jopp lets you boys off base, head over to L'ultima Cena and you'll see what I mean. It's the local watering hole. In the meantime, try and stay dry. If you succeed at that, please come back and tell me how you managed to do so. CAPT Roger Oveur 509th BG S-7

Sorry, Frank, no can do. As you know, the paperwork we got from 15th Air Force HQ was that LT West would be arriving at Giulia without an aircraft. There was a snafu, of course. West arrived on base along with Mountain Men, a G model Fortress he flew over with. I'm sure you'll appreciate the new addition to the 80th. I've let Bruno know about the now-orphaned Private Dix and recommended that the bomber be assigned to the spare pool. How about if I buy you one at the Ultima next time we're there? Cheers, Roger

Hello, I own a copy of TfT and would ike to join the 509th. We're currently flying the B17F 'Six Nights in Telergma' in the 568 squadron with the 390th bomb group but weather is so terrible over the Channel we're hoping for a transfer to sunny Italy. On our first six mission we hardly hit a thing and on our first mission we even lost the plane and 8 of the crew in the Channel.
B-17: Six Nights in Telergma
Reporting for duty are
Pilot: 1LT James 'Jim' Waggoner Co-Pilot: 2nd LT Alf Pelka Bombadier: 2nd LT Jerome McLaughlin Navigator: 2nd LT Irvin R. Lifson (with us since the first mission) Engineer: S/SGT John M. Graves Radio Operator: SGT George Powell Ball Gunner: SGT William H. McBride Port Waist: SGT James J. Woods Starboard Waist: SGT Ernest Philips (with us since the first mission) Tail Gunner: SGT Floyd F. Daugherty
Oh, and pretty sure our pilot would love to fly one of those modern B24 planes

Hi Guys
Any chance of joining a campaign? (I have "Target For Today")
If so, here's my crew. If I've read the instructions correctly, if I choose the Liberator, I start with a B-24D?
Cheers
Drew
