Here's a little project I've been working up: Tenth Air Force operations in the China-Burma-India theater. Play along if you want.
TENTH ARMY AIR FORCE
7th Bombardment Group (Heavy)
MISSION DATE: 14 May 1942
MISSION # na
7th Bombardment Group (Heavy)
MISSION DATE: 14 May 1942
MISSION # na
BASE: Kurmitola Airfield, Dhaka, India
TARGET: Primary: Myitkyina Airfield; Secondary: Myitkyina Bridge
Bombing Altitude: 20,000 feet
Mission Brief: Japanese fighters based at Myitkyina harass the transports flying the Hump from Assam to Kunming. Expect heavy fighter coverage in the target area. It's not monsoon season, so expect very few clouds, no rain and light winds. Choose enemy fighters the normal way do you it, with these substitutes: for the Me109 use the Nakajima Ki-43 Hayabusa "Oscar" and for the FW 190 use the Mitsubishi A6M Reisen "Zero". The 7th BG used mostly B-24s but there were some B-17s. Choose whichever. Attach AARs to this thread (if you want to). Suggestions welcome on any aspect of this simulation!
