For those interested in playing but don't own a copy, try out Vassal Game EngineThen Download the game module (I use the 3.9) since I don't have room to keep a table set up, I miss rolling the actual dice, and sometimes I have to roll the dice on a book next to me just for the feel of the bones in my hands.

Use the 3.2 as it is running okay.

Thanks for making that Vassal module - I've been using it a fair bit, as I don't have the luxury of enough space to leave TfT set up in physical form. It is easy to use with the tables and rules from the game itself, plus the various extras you put in there (damage charts, flowchart). For sure, setup time is quicker than the physical game, but sometimes, you just want something that isn't on the screen. There is also an excellent module for Target for Tonight, which is another game on my radar.

I have updated the Vassal Module to include B-17, B-24, and the Lanc... with all charts etc... All in 1 module.

I just came back from the first day of my table top society’s first convention of the year. During the first break I walked over to one of the sales tables and saw an original QOTS game for $15.
When I first decided to play with the 509, I looked all over trying to find a copy of the game. Of course, anything I found was super expensive, so I printed everything up online. But finding a copy so cheap, I couldn’t resist buying it. Then I opened it. This game is in mint condition and unused! All of the counters are unpunched and it even has the original AH postcard you could send in for the catalog as well as the games and parts price list catalog that came with every AH game of the day.
What a find!

I just came back from the second day of the conference. I was talking to the guy that I had bought the game off of and he told me that he bought one himself and that there is one left.
He said his wasn’t in the perfect condition as mine was as all the counters have been punched out but he has one more that he’ll sell me for 20 bucks, but he’s not sure of the condition as he’s never looked inside of it.
The story behind these games is that his friend who died recently used to work for Avalon Hill. The guy used to come home with all types of games by AH, many of them unplayed, and he’s selling these games for his wife to clean out his game room,
So if anybody would like an original copy of the game I can pick it up for you.
