Real World Note: In the 900 Bomb Group, of which I serve as co-coordinator, we use "hangar queens" when a regular bomber is down with damage. Each has a different "gremlin" which may or may not appear given the dice on the Mechanical Difficulty Table. I randomly selected a "Queen" prior to this mission. The "gremlin” obviously came up. Here is the description: "If you are hit in the pilot compartment, are hit by flak or take evasive action, the pilots seat, which had been re-welded, fractures and the pilot falls to the floor. Roll 1d6: 1-5 Co-pilot recovers quickly. On a roll of 6 recovery is achieved, but the pilot suffers a light wound. If the co-pilot has flown less than 5 missions he returns the a/c to control but falls out of formation for the rest of the current zone.
All the rest was standard stuff, if you can call total chaos "standard".
BLP
Hmmmm.... whats everyone think of doing something similar? and of course it would remain optional to the individual too.

Not so much a fan myself but being one of the noobs here leave it to the community. Being an aviator most of my life and in aviation even longer hangar queen "gremlins" don't usually follow the example noted above. Instead they would be arbitrary system failures; i.e. random engine failure, random region O2 is out, random radio failure, on landing one of the gear won't extend, etc. Besides this I am not sure how many of a groups resources would have been flagged a s hangar queens with "gremlins". Not saying you wouldn't occasionally have one but not the possibility in each and every one that was being used.
Ok, that's my dime for now.
